Meet Jonathon Clarke, one of the newest members of the Hotondo Homes network. Jon and his wife Lyndsey joined in January 2016 and now operate on the Central Coast in New South Wales. We had a chance to sit down with Jon and have a chat about his experience joining Hotondo Homes and how his life changed in the last few months.
24-year old Jon grew up on the Central Coast and swears he could never live anywhere else. Like many builders, as Jon was going through school he felt it just wasn’t for him. At 15 he made the choice to leave school and begin a carpentry apprenticeship with his stepdad, who had already started to show him the building ropes. Jon found he had a passion for building and knew it was the right path to follow. By 21, Jon had built his own home renovations business which he operated until discovering an opportunity with Hotondo Homes.
“I was thinking about making the transition to new home construction
but it just seemed out of reach. When I first met the team from Hotondo it all seemed too good to be true. They offered the support and resources I needed to make the transition and they lived up to what was promised.”
“We knew there was a gap in the market for personable builders in the area and
that is our point of difference. Our clients know
they will always have access to us throughout the
entire process. We’re honest, transparent and provide fantastic service.”
Since the opening of Hotondo Homes Central Coast the dynamic duo has been working hard to establish themselves and the business within the local area. Jon manages the building and estimating while Lyndsey focuses on sales, administration, marketing and colour selections. With plans to expand their team, they’re eager to continue growing with the hope of becoming the area’s most well-known builders.
Over the past three months, Jon has been able to get off the tools and now spends most of his time in the office managing the business as well as each new home being built. He now has the time to relax a little more with the stresses of work staying at the office as he leaves each night.
“I used to work up until 9pm quoting jobs and finishing my paperwork, it was usually followed by a
5am wake up to start the next day, but that’s all changed now.”
When asked what some of the biggest benefits of joining Hotondo Homes were Jon could not shy away from the support he’s been provided. From financial advice to marketing guides and sales training, the team has felt comfortable and supported throughout the entire process. Knowing there’s an entire team behind him provided a sense of protection and only motivated Jon further to achieve his goals.
“I also have access to an entire network of builders with years of experience who have
already become great friends, they’ve encouraged me and are always happy to share some valuable advice and tips.”
We’re looking forward to seeing what great things are in store for the Central Coast team.
